asbestos

Financial consequences

If asbestos material has been damaged and has not properly been enclosed or encapsulated, health hazards arise. Asbestos can also have great financial consequences, however. The value of a property may decrease. If asbestos is released due to fire or storm damage, the owner is liable for the clean-up costs, which may cause higher insurance premiums.

Companies and institutions are always obliged to safeguard occupants or users of a building against exposure to asbestos fibres. In the case of demolition, asbestos must always be removed by a certified asbestos company. The way in which you deal with asbestos is therefore also largely dependent on financial considerations.
